St. Vincent and the Grenadines Senator for UNITY Youth Convention

Described as a fearless Renaissance woman St. Vincent and the Grenadines Opposition NDP Senator Attorney Vynnette Frederick will be one of the featured speakers at this weekend’s inaugural Youth of UNITY Convention to be held on Saturday 23rd August at the OOJJ’s Convention Center at 1:00pm.
Frederick is the youngest member of the NDP Executive, and sole female candidate in the upcoming elections for the New Democratic Party. Vynnette has been involved in politics since she was eligible to vote.
“Ms Frederick was easily at the top of our list when we considered possible speakers for our inaugural convention, “said one of the organizers.
“She is not only a youth but a female and possesses the right experiences to endear, engage and encourage our youths to strive for enhanced self-development and the development of the country. So we were ecstatic when she accepted our invitation,” the Organizing Committee Member concluded.
Ms Frederick expressed her delight in receiving the invitation and indicated her enthusiasm regarding her presentation to the youths of the federation.
The Attorney and NDP Candidate said “I look forward to meeting and speaking with the young people who are striving to change the way politics works in St. Kitts-Nevis and the Caribbean. The job isn’t easy but I know that our youth have what it takes to shake up the establishment and make meaningful change for the betterment of their community and nation.”
Senator Vynnette Frederick brought to politics in St. Vincent and the Grenadines a varied background, strong in academics, the arts, culture, oratory and media. Add to that a winning personality and you can understand why for many she is a refreshing addition to the political landscape of that country, said an official.
Her entry into politics came at the invitation of Arnhim Eustace when Vynnette was only 19 years old.
Appearing on the rostrum back in 1998, Frederick’s presence on the rostrum was described as fiery. She appeared as the first video deejay on the innovative Guinness Power Jams programme. She studied Law at the University of the West Indies Cave Hill, where her involvement in student activism and governance as Vice President of the Guild of Students, coupled with her involvement in Sport and Culture saw her recognized and awarded throughout her years there.
She sits as the lone female Senator appointed by the Opposition in Parliament. Frederick, a self-confessed techie is the Shadow Minister of Culture Science and Information Technology, & Women’s Affairs.
