1. Sidamo Jones crowned first ever Ms. Sapphire. The show organised by entrepeneur Miss Caribbean Culture Queen Show Producer and LIME BAR Owner Mr. Randy Jeffers was a huge success. It was held on Pinneys Beach on Sunday 21st December, 2014. The other beauties included Felicia Silcott, Rhenique Leslie, Triscilla Arthurton , Hydeaia Tyson and Jovon Garvey .

2. LED lights were successfully distributed on Nevis over the weekend at the TDC parking lot in Pinneys, and the Horsfords Nevis Center Parking lot and at Best Buy in Gingerland. The Light Exchange and Distribution Program began in St.Kitts some months ago.

2. Political Pundits are suggesting that the Labour/NRP coalition have now engaged in calling themselves Unity after their Contract of Progress launch held on Thursday. In an event dubbed ONE The Nevis Reformation Party and the Labour Party formalized their relationship with the presentation of their contract for progress. The labour/NRP coalition are now labeling themselves as the real UNITY.

4. Senator Carlisle Powell made history over the last week when he became the first MP to be asked to excuse the Nevis Island assembly . The Speaker of the Assembly asked Powell to excuse the assembly bad instructed the Police to escort the Senator from the Assembly .

5. Two shootings took place over the past weekend. Popular Local dancehall artiste ASHKENAZ was shot in the hills of Challengers . Another shooting incident took place at the Cooler Fete event at 17 degrees on Saturday

6. A number of Children’s Parties were held over the weekend by Candidates of Team UNITY and the ruling Labour/NRP.

7. Popular DJ Sugar Bowl won the 2014 Soca Monarch competition with an exciting performance of his hit “Watch u gonna do”. Sugar Bowl was joined by his Pep TV colleague Mr Bagnall who won the Groovy Soca Monarch with “CARNIVAL BOSS” . Carnival music icon Mr Mention placed first runner up in both the power and the groovy segments. There are a many who felt the Sugar Band Leader won the Power Soca segment . The show was a huge success and seems well on its way to being the biggest show for Sugar Mas going forward.

8. The Historic Charlestown Accord was signed by leaders of the three major political parties that have partnered to form the historic alliance known as team unity . The accord outlines a number of significant benefits and commitments for the island of Nevis with a Team UNITY government .
