during the IAAF Golden Gala at the Stadio Olimpico on July 11, 2008 in Rome, Italy.

Experience dominated in the men’s 60m while youth prevailed in the women’s sprint event as Kim Collins and Ewa Swoboda were among the winners at the PSD Bank Meeting in Dusseldorf on Wednesday.

The 2003 world 100m champion Collins, who turns 40 in April, clocked 6.53 at the European Athletics Indoor Permit meeting to equal the world lead which had been run by third-placer Julian Reus last Friday. In Dusseldorf, Reus clocked 6.59 in front of home fans to finish behind USA’s runner-up Joe Morris with the same time.

Collins had earlier run 6.60 to win his heat, matching the time clocked by USA’s Mike Rodgers in the first heat, but Rodgers couldn’t try to improve on that mark as he and Germany’s Christian Blum were both disqualified for false starts.
