US Town Councilor and New St.Kitts-Nevis Ambassador to strengthen US-St.Kitts-Nevis Relations

Arlington, VA:-United States and St.Kitts-Nevis Relations are expected to be improved with the appointment of St.Kitts-Nevis Ambassador to the US Her Excellency Dr. Thelma Phillip Browne. This improvement will be significantly facilitated through the commitment by US Town Councilor Ken W Clifton to use his office to foster and assist in anyway possible the relationship between the US and St.Kitts-Nevis.
This commitment was outlined in a congratulatory message sent to HE Dr. Phillip-Browne after her official appointment as the new Ambassador. In the message dated December 20th US Town Councilor Clifton expressed tremendous pleasure in congratulating Ambassador Phillip-Browne on her appointment.
The congratulatoy note read:

“Your Excellency: Allow me please to express my warmest and most sincere congratulations on your appointment to the illustrious post as Ambassador of St. Kitts and Nevis to the United States of America.

Your appointment comes at an auspicious time. Indeed no country has been immune from recent economic downturn and the vagaries of international tension and uncertainty. Yet our good and historically close ties will enable us to travel down the path to economic recovery together. I am confident that your tenure will usher in a new approach for bilateral relations, which will further deepen.

It is a great pleasure to see you assume this new role as you have been instrumental in furthering constructive change over the years and have made key contributions to the social, health, sporting and economic development of the homeland. I, myself, as a youth growing up in St. Kitts have always looked up to you and have admired the compassion you have demonstrated,” Clifton stated

Councilman Clifton went on to express the support of Nationals in the Diaspora and committed to assist in the strengthening of relations between the United States and St.Kitts-Nevis.

Clifton continued “Please know that we in the diaspora support you, and I personally as an elected official, will do all that I can to assist you with strengthening already close relationship with the United States. Working together, we can find ways to collaborate to make a positive difference for the betterment of our people.”

In conclusion Clifton expressed best wishes to Ambassador Phillip-Browne and reiterated his support of her .

“Again, I extend heartiest congratulations and best wishes and you can be assured that I stand ready, willing and able to assist and to support you in fulfilling your mission on behalf of the Government and people of our beloved Federation,” Clifton concluded

It is expected that both officials will shortly officially meet and seek to discuss and possibly formalize plans that will result in enhanced relations between the two countries.
