UK Based St.Kitts DJ ‘had sex with vulnerable 13-year-old Asian sex gang victim within hour of meeting her’

Jerome Joe arrives at court where he denies one count of rape and one alternative count of sexual activity with a child

Wednesday March 9th 2016(UK Mirror):-  A DJ had sex with the 13-year-old victim of an Asian sex ring within an hour of meeting her and told her not to tell anyone so people would not ‘think bad’ of him, a court heard.

Jerome Joe of Pightle Crescent, Buckingham was charged with one count of sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 15.

Joe, 36, allegedly met the vulnerable teenager through associates in Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire and is said to have had sex with her on at least five occasions.

The Old Bailey was told the alleged abuse only emerged in 2012 when the complainant, by then a mum of two, was facing having her own children taken from her by social services.

The girl’s mother was an alcoholic and the two of them were living in a hostel for ‘at risk’ families, the jury was told.

After being expelled from school, she would pass the time hanging around the cinema and the local market, where she got to know the stall holders and taxi drivers.

By the age of 13 she was being sexually abused by dozens of mostly Asian men, the Old Bailey heard.

By the age of 16 at least 60 men had slept with her, jurors were told.

The court heard that on one evening in 2007, she remembers being dropped off at Joe’s flat by another of her abusers and ‘dumped there’.

Jurors were told that within an hour, Joe, originally from St Kitts, was having sex with her, despite knowing her age.

She and Joe – whom she dubbed ‘Bling’ because of his love of flashy jewellery – had sex on at least five occasions between 2007 and 2008, jurors heard.

In 2012, when she was at risk of having her children removed from her care, she gave police a list of names of the men who had allegedly abused her, including Joe’s.

Upon his arrest, he said: “I am not Bling. I know a black guy called Bling that looks like me but it’s not me.”

He denied ever having sex with the victim, claimed that the real ‘Bling’ was a man called Dwayne living elsewhere in the town.

Giving evidence from behind a screen, the witness said: “He asked me how old I was, I told him I was 13, I was just dumped there so I didn’t care about telling him the truth.

“I think it was only after that he said to keep it quiet – he didn’t want people to think bad.”

“Me and my friend were laughing at him one day because he was telling us about all his jewellery, he was walking around like he was wearing a jewellery shop so we decided ‘Bling’ would be a good name.”

She said Joe had never really asked her about herself or her background, and that he only knew that she lived with her mum.

When asked if she had asked him any questions, she replied: “I did ask if he was married, he said no but said he had an ex with a child and he told me about his DJ stuff sometimes.

“His ex was a white woman, I’m sure he only had one child at that time, I think it was a girl.

“It just felt strange, I guess I wasn’t used to sleeping with ‘Bling’.”

When asked about his flat, she described an enormous professionally taken photograph above the bed.

It featured Joe naked from the waist up, wearing blue jeans and his trademark marijuana leaf necklace.

She also described the CCTV camera he had trained on his silver BMW parked outside the back door of his flat, as well as his drinks cabinet and his DJ equipment.

She said she stopped seeing Joe after he accused her of deliberately scratching his beloved car, although she would see him around town occasionally.

The next time they spoke properly was the year before Joe was arrested, when he pulled along side her in his car.

“He was moaning about my weight, asking where the kids were. I took his number just to shut him up, he thought he was going to get something out of me.

“He just kept talking and talking.”

When asked why she thought he had wanted her number, she said: “For sex, but it was confusing after he was talking about how much weight I’d put on then he asked for my number, so that was strange.

“I gave him my number to shut him up, he called me a few weeks later and I saved his number so I could ignore it.”

Joe, of Pightle Crescent, Buckingham, denies one count of rape and one alternative count of sexual activity with a child.

The trial continues.
