St.Kitts Track Star Shenel Crooke Named MEAC Track Athlete Of The Week

NORFOLK, Va. (April 6, 2013)-Morgan State Junior Shenel Crooke was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) track performer of the week, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.

This is the third MEAC performer of the week honor this season for Crooke, who earned the previous two awards during the indoor season.

A native of Basseterre, St. Kitts, Crooke had a busy week last weekend, competing in the Tiger Twilight, hosted by Savannah State and then taking part in the annual Pepsi Relays held at the University of Florida.

Crooke would capture both the 100 meter and 200 meter dash titles at the Tiger Twilight. She ran a winning time of 11.83 in the 100m and 24.48 to win the 200m.

Crooke didn’t stop there, as headed down to Gainesville, Fla., where she ran a faster time in the 100m college section, finishing in a time of 11.59. She also ran a leg on the women’s 4X200 meter relay team, which ran a time of 1:39.36 and placed 19th.
