A Fresh Start has seemingly truly come to the way things are done in the federation. This was obvious when on Saturday evening the Opposition St.Kitts-Nevis Labour Party held their annual Queen Pageant at Carnival Village without any hindrance from the ruling Team UNITY Administration. Carnival Village is the government run home for Carnival Events such as Queen Pageants and Calypso Shows. Over the last 20 years at least, the Opposition was not allowed to stage ANY event in Carnival Village. Requests to use the village were either constantly denied or ignored. The Opposition PAM had to settle on hosting all their events at the much smaller and less convenient PAM Headquarters.

This past Saturday May 2dn Not only was the Opposition SKN Labour Party given full access and permission to use the Carnival Village, they were also facilitated by the new Team UNITY Government with the services of the Public Works Department. The stage and other facilities were mounted by the hardworking men and women at Public Works with the permission of the Team Unity Government. In the past 20 years the Public Works Department was never allowed to facilitate the opposition in the staging of any of their perennial events. However, this year the Public Works were busy all weekend mounting stages for events for BOTH the Government and opposition. This is something that was never allowed to happen in the past 20 years at least.

The Labour Party held their Queen Pageant on Saturday evening and will have their annual Labour Day March on Monday. Team UNITY staged their first SEASIDE Fest at the Frigate Bay Beach on  Sunday and then UNITY Partners PAM will be hosting their annual May Fair on Monday May 4th  at PAM Headquarters.
