St. Kitts Nevis Defence Force welcomes over 40 recruits

(ZIZ News) — Some of the nation’s bravest young men and women have helped to contribute to the significantly large number of recruits currently undergoing training at The St. Kitts Nevis Defence Force.

Earlier this week, ZIZ spoke with Public Affairs Officer for the SKN Defence Force, Captain Kayode Sutton who said the change in numbers is the result of the change made in the recruitment process.

“The Defence Force has done something slightly different with the Recruitment Process. The Open Day that we had in the Park, we decided to take it to the centre of town where it would be convenient for people who would want to come and find out about the Defence Force rather than coming up to the Camp. The convenience of exposing, demonstrating and answering the questions persons had in the centre of town I think paid off a bit”, he said.

According to Captain Sutton, a total of 45 recruits had been recorded.

Captain Sutton said the Force was quite pleased with the group’s number.

“We are happy that we have a lot of citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis who are interested in committing to serve their country in this capacity. Our job right now is to try to train them and prepare them for this noble profession that they have chosen to be a part of”, the Captain added.
