Saint Kitts and Nevis beach volleyball athletes begin training camp in Mexico



 
The training camp is part of NORCECA’s push to strengthen the development programmes of the Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association.
Tijuana, Mexico, (September 21, 2016)- Members of the Saint Kitts and Nevis national beach voleyball team have begun a training camp as part of their preparation for international competitions.
 
The training camp takes place at the FIVB-NORCECA Volleyball Regional Development Centre located inside the Baja California High Performance Complex.
 
The training camp is part of the efforts of the North, Central American and Caribbean Confederation to strengthen the development programmes of the Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Zone Association (ECVA) with the support of the Regional Development Centre in Mexico and the NORCECA Central Zone, presided by NORCECA First Executive Vice President, Saul Castro Verdugo.  
 
The training sessions started this week after the athletes’ arrival from the Caribbean island. 
 
The Saint Kitts and Nevis players will train in Mexico under the direction of two-time Olympic player and Guadalajara 2011 Pan Am Silver medal winner, Mayra Garcia.
 
The group of athletes includes Brenda Allen, Genelle Howell, St Clair Hodge and Kemoroy Percival, as well as brothers Ranciato and Rohan Jeffers.
 
The Caribbean players will hold scrimmage matches against players who are part of the State Sports Talent Programme of Baja California to get the best of their stay in Tijuana before their participation in tournaments in Hermosa Beach, United States.
