The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr the Hon. Timothy Harris has recently reaffirmed his commitment to the country’s Citizenship by Investment program (CBI). After some concerns were expressed by a number of the licensed agents that promote the program he has given his assurances that his newly elected UNITY government are fully behind the CBI program.

Recent efforts have been made by the St Kitts-Nevis government to ensure that the necessary action is taken to reassure the governments of other countries such as the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, that any concerns that they may have about the CBI program in St Kitts will be investigated and they will work with these countries and the governments of other nations to ensure that the St Kitts-Nevis CBI program has the highest possible level of acceptance across the world.

Dr Harris said “at this time relations with the United States and Canada are the two foreign policy objectives, recalibrating relations with them is important to the maintenance of the Citizenship by Investment program”. The Prime Minister has reviewed some of the projects that are financed by the CBI program and went on to say “we continue to do business in the CBI program. We want legitimate businesses and we are working diligently to restore the prestige of our Citizenship by Investment program as the oldest and best in the world”.

As a further demonstration of their commitment to the project, the Team Unity administration have reported that over a hundred applications for economic citizenship have recently been approved. The St Kitts-Nevis government stated that Certificates of Registration for the CBI program had all been signed by the Prime Minister recently once the proper due diligence had been performed on the applications. The service providers for the St Kitts CBI program have stated that they were impressed with the clearing of this backlog and the way in which Prime Minister Harris has addressed their concerns about the program.

There were a number of applications that were placed “on hold” while the backlog was being cleared and the St Kitts government has now stated that this clears the way for these applications to be processed and new applications to be accepted for the CBI program.

The CBI programme has received some negative exposure over the last 18 months due to the handling of the programme by the previous government led by Dr. Denzil Douglas. Both the US and Canadian authorities took steps to address concerns they had with the administration of the programme by the Douglas led administration.
The presence now of a new Administration led by Dr. Harris has significantly enhanced the appeal and acceptance of the programme by the North American authorities. Dr Harris as well as new Foreign Affairs Minister and Deputy Premier of Nevis Hon. Mark Brantley have been commended in the strides and efforts they have made in ensuring the programme remains among the top in the world through the pursuance of the improvement and enhancement of the programme .

  1. l would suggest ST.KITTS: Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris who is Working Hard to Restore Prestige of St.Kitts-Nevis Citizenship by Investment Programme to consider those Doctoral degree holders to be considered for citizenship thus to increase the number of well trained professionals in St Kitts rather than considering direct investment they can take into account the educational level of the applicants . it is not only money helping with growth of its economy but also immigration of brain is also a step that may contribute towards the development of this tiny island nation. They could be charge but a little this will help the cultural growth of the nation l think you should encourage those well trained professionals as well to be naturalized either directly or on some basis that will facilitate their naturalization process This quota could be five to ten percent of overall applicants considered under direct investment
