PM Harris Addresses Thousands at Sounds of Peace Concert. Gives Commitment to support the development, empowerment and the success of young people

Basseterre, St.Kitts (February 21st 2016):- Prime Minister Dr. Hon. Timothy Harris gave his government’s commitment to the development of young people on Friday evening while addressing thousands at the first ever Sounds of Peace Concert.
The hugely successful event saw several local artistes performing each delivering a message of Peace and an appeal to stop the violence.
Prime Minister Harris made a brief appearance where he commended the organizers for putting together the event.
“We are proud of the young people who are committed to a life of peace and a life of prosperity and I’ve come to say that your government will stand with the young people of St. Kitts who want to get on with their lives, who are committed to end violence. Violence in their homes, violence in their communities and violence in the country,” he said.

“We shall work together and we will mobilize a number of departments of the government over the next few months to come up with an all embracing policy that supports the development, empowerment and the success of young people,” Prime Minister Dr. Harris continued .


The Peace Concert was organized in conjunction with Team Unity’s week of activities to celebrate their first year in office. The event began at around 5pm and went until 12:30 am . Performers included Infamus, Nicha B, Shanna, Mr Bagnall, K-Jah, King Astro and Delly Ranks along with the Road March Champions the Small Axe Band .
