St.Kitts  neurosurgeon, Dr. Andy J. Smith-Redmond,  who specializes in brain and spinal surgeries, has pledged his commitment to the health sector of St. Kitts and Nevis in providing expertise and equipment. Dr. Redmond, who is from Ottley’s Village St. Kitts but resides in Texas, USA, made the promise while delivering the keynote address at Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris’ New Year’s Gala, at the St. Kitts Marriott, on January 6, 2018. His committment remains .

The Yale University trained Dr Redmond-Smith is the man behind the presence of a world class MRI Imaging Service on St.Kitts-Nevis.

Dr. Redmond, who is a partner at premiere specialty hospital, in Texas, indicated that he learned much about medical business development and management through his studies in medicine and it is this along with his much noted medical background that has enabled the presence of a world class MRI Imaging Service in his home country , St.Kitts-Nevis

During a speech made at the 2018 PM’s Gala event Dr. Redmond declared “Let us work together to make St. Kitts-Nevis the provider of the best medical services in the region. Brothers, and sisters, the time has come for us to compete not based on size, but based on our intellect, ingenuity, and creativity, so let’s pool our resources and move forward, because our time, is now.”

The brain and spinal neurosurgery specialist indicated that he was advocating for MRI equipment in St. Kitts and Nevis for well over a decade

Dr. Redmond implored everyone, young and old to give of their best to the development of St Kitts and Nevis. It is then we can see the truth in the operational theme of the gala,“our country’s success rests not on size, but on our nation’s ability to rise to the occasion.”
