Charlestown, Nevis (Monday December 11th ):- The Opposition Nevis Reformation Party has cancelled their planned Motorcade which was scheduled to take place today as part of the Nomination Day process . Nomination Day has traditionally seen scores of supporters of either parties in the election taking to the streets in various processions accompanying their respective candidates to the nomination process.

NRP Candidate Cory Tyson in a statement made on Social Media stated in part “the NRP will forego the motorcade that usually accompanies the nomination of our candidates.”

The NIA Elections are slated for Monday December 18th. Both contending parties the CCM and the NRP are in full campaign mode. The incumbent Hon Mark Brantley led CCM are favoured to win in a landslide according to recent polls. However the Opposition NRP are determined and will be hoping for a surprise upset victory. In the last 30 years the NRP has won only one election at either the Federal or Local level.
