Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 12, 2016 (RSCNPF):  A police mobile patrol in Nevis on Saturdaymorning (April 9) was on time for a person being accosted on Government Road and led to the speedy arrest of Troy Francis of Cayon Village, St. Kitts for the offence of assault with intent to rob.

Investigations revealed that the complainant was walking along Government Road when accosted by Francis. Screams from the complainant alerted an individual in the area who came to the rescue. A call was made to the Police and a quick response from a mobile unit on patrol resulted in the apprehension of Francis.  Investigations further revealed that a car in the area was being driven by Francis and was previously reported stolen.

“I applaud the good Samaritan for coming to the rescue upon hearing the screams for help… the community getting involved and looking out for each other helps in the fight against crime and criminal activity” said, Inspector Alonzo Carty of the Nevis Division. He added, “our officers timely response coupled with the details from the victim and those who assisted was instrumental in arresting this individual.  This is an example of  the partnership that will help us to reduce crime and the fear of crime in our communities.”
