Jamaica Records New Low 3% COVID-19 Positivity Rate

(Nationwideradiojm) Jamaica has recorded its lowest positivity rate for Covid-19 in several months.

The rate now stands at 3 per cent according to the Health Ministry’s latest update.

11 99 samples were tested. 39 positive Covid-19 cases were confirmed.

This brings the number of confirmed positive cases to 46,821.

Meanwhile, five more persons have died from Covid-19 bringing the total number of deaths to 814.

The deceased include three males and a female from Trelawny and one male from Kingston and St Andrew.

Majority of the cases are from St Ann with 10 new cases.

Kingston and St Andrew followed with 9 new cases.

In the meantime, recoveries in the latest update stands at 122.

This brings the number of recoveries to 22, 517.

172 persons have been hospitalized, 7 are moderately ill and 12 are critical.
