Press and Public Relations Secretary in the Office of Prime Minister in St.Kitts Mr. Clecton Phillip is contemplating legal action against former Commissioner of Police CG Walwyn . This in light of the fact that a case brought against Phillip after he was arrested by Walwyn in 2014 was dismissed this past week.
Phillip was arrested for what he continues to maintain was a peaceful demonstration and alleges that his public of exposure of Walwyn’s renting of a house belonging to a then government Minister is likely what precipitated the arrest as it angered then Commissioner Walwyn.

Phillip says his reputation has been seriously damaged by the wrongful arrest and thus is contemplating legal action against the former commissitioner Walwyn.
News Reports at the time indicated that Walwyn stormed out of the Marriott Hotel where the annual PM’s Gala was ongoing. Walwyn walked toward the protest area and demanded that the officers on hand dismiss the protesters or arrest them. The reports further indicated that even the officers on duty were threatened and told if they did not disperse the protesters that they to maybe arrested. Walwyn was then approached by Attorney and Now Minister of Tourism Lindsay Grant who then inquired on what grounds could the Commissioner arrest anyone Commissioner responded that he doesn’t need grounds to arrest. Subsequently Phillip was arrested and had to spend a night in prison.
