Coach Rameese leads gritty PRIDE past Wolf Pack as SKNABA Action Continues

SANDY POINT, St. Kitts and Nevis (April 26, 2016) — Chavez ‘Beto’ Belboda amassed 27 points, 6 rebounds, six steals as the Sandy Point PRIDE defeated the Achievers Wolf Pack, 79-70, Tuesday night at Basketball City.

Impressive work: PRIDE (2-0 to begin the season) not only registered it’s second victory, but they did so against a good team that has been clicking. Following a win over the 2015 ‘A’ division runners up they recorded a season high 26 steals against a Wolf Pack Team that was only recently relegated to the ‘A’ division after playing in the premier division in 2015.
As it turned out, the long break  between the team’s first two games paid enormous dividends as there was more than enough juice available in the legs of the young lions to outlast the Wolves when coach Rambo ordered a fourth quarter defensive lock down to which the players responded with flashes of hard-nosed resistance.
“It wasn’t a picture perfect offensive exhibition for either team, however we continue to hang our hats on the defensive mindset of our team!” Said Coach Rameese Belboda
Wild game: The PRIDE were terrific for most of the first 10 minutes of the first quarter in building a 20-15 cushion. Wolf Pack rallied to reduce the deficit to just two points, a 57-55 PRIDE lead at the end of the third quarter.
PRIDE could have folded, but instead, the team’s co-captains Taslin ‘Mini’ Belboda and Sheeno ‘Jeezy’ Liddie led by example and rallied the troupes en route to tallying 19 points 13 assists 8 steals and 16 points 15 rebounds 6 steals respectively.
“We had to dig deep tonight! Mel, Secada, Miguel, Dilyn and Bassue also gave us good contributions as they all made key hustle plays to help push us over the hump!” Continued Coach Rambo.
