On Wednesday October 25, 2017, BPW St Kitts was recognized for its project “BPW Women’s Wellness Campaign” because of the positive impact that this project had on the women of St. Kitts. This project earned Mrs. Cheryleann Pemberton, Head of the Civic Standing Committee, a space on the international platform where she delivered a very inspiring presentation at the Workshop held on Wednesday afternoon, entitled “Action that Makes a Difference” In her presentation she highlighted the importance of community-based groups, such as BPW working with women who can ill-afford regular health and wellness checks such as cervical cancer, and breast cancer. The importance of follow-up health checks was also emphasized and she noted BPW’s commitment to make this an annual campaign throughout St Kitts and Nevis. Mrs. Pemberton also made an appeal for financial assistance for these type of projects. As a result of the appeal, a donor agency invited BPW St Kitts to apply for a grant to finance these projects. BPW St. Kitts and Nevis delegation attended the Congress Gala and Awards Ceremony, at the Citadel in the evening. The Club was recognized as the 5th place winner for their “Women’s Wellness Campaign” in the” BPW Power to Make a Difference Awards” category. The Immediate Past President Christine received the award on behalf of the club. We look forward to sharing with you activities for the rest of the week, which includes the results of the election of the new executive of BPW International and a cruise on the river Nile.
